The work is basically sedentary involving intense concentration and continuous troubleshooting for several hours at a time, often with more than one party at a time. Incumbent may be subjected to stressful situations since network, Unix Oracle, TUXEDO/ Weblogic,
TP8, SAFE, IDS/II DB, Integrity Control, and/or IBM CICS, Oracle DB and computer problems often require immediate response to problems. Assignments may also involve physical exertion necessary to accomplish equipment cabling and/or re-cabling, minor equipment relocations and equipment inventory activities. Incumbent may be required to work long hours or irregular shifts as the workload demands. Major Duties:
Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides technical expertise in mainframe and open system middleware application support including Unix Oracle, TUXEDO/Weblogic,
TP8, Sourdough starter SAFE, IDS/II DB, Integrity Control, and/or IBM CICSS software. applies data processing, configuration management, performance management, and systems integration skills in tandem with knowledge of requirements to tailor, if necessary, vendor-supplied software in order to provide compatibility within the existing environment. Ensures that software upgrades are in place to support application rollouts after a coordinated installation adn after installation, is responsible for maintaining software updates. Implements controls to deny authorized access and to deny unauthorized access and to safeguard the data against threats to its integrity. Participates in technical briefings and to present findings and arguments to a diverse group of managers, vendor representatives, Sector and Regional Office technical support staff and local users. documented experience utilizing Weblogic as an Information Technology Specialist. You may qualify based on your experience, as described below:
Experience - Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes experience creating and configuring Weblogic domains, adding nodes to the WebLogic cluster, applying data processing, configuration management, performance management, and systems integration skills to tailor vendor-supplied software in order to provide compatibility within the existing environment and examining and planning various strategies for increasing network performance, optimizing disk management, controlling system security, and tailoring configurations to meet end-user requirements. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
